AGE GROUPS standard age groups in years: less than 1 year; 1 to 4 years; 5 to 14 years; 15 to 24 years; 25 to 44 years; 45 to 64 years; 65 to 74 years; 75 years and over. 5-yearly cohorts are increasingly used for children and the elderly.
